Senior Cloud & Platform Architect | Platform Product Owner | Direction and architecture that land in production

Gørlev / Copenhagen area, Denmark · [email protected] · linkedin.com/in/toeriksen

Profile

I’d rather own whether a platform works than just have opinions on how it should. In 25 years in IT, eight of them at BEC Financial Technologies in Danish banking, I have owned roadmaps and priorities for cloud, integration and operations platforms, and worked with engineers, architects, security and consuming teams until the first systems ran in production. Today I’m Senior Cloud Architect at Lundbeck. On the side I own the infrastructure behind We Are Falcon’s live-TV software, where AI agents write and test the infrastructure changes and I own the guardrails and the production accountability. I use AI thoughtfully, and human judgment stays accountable. I’m calm when things are on fire, and direct, usually with a smile.

What I’m looking for: real mandate over a technical platform’s direction, roadmap and architecture decisions, as Platform PM/TPM, Platform Lead, Cloud/Platform/Infrastructure Architect, Cloud Platform Owner or CCoE Lead. Ideally about 60–70% direction, roadmap and stakeholders, and 30–40% hands-on close to production. People leadership is welcome but not the core.

Key strengths

  • Platform ownership: roadmap and prioritisation for technical platforms, taken into production (Azure CCoE, API Connect, Kafka).
  • Architecture close to production: Azure, AWS and private cloud: network, firewalling, load balancing, provisioning, recovery.
  • AI-augmented engineering with guardrails: agents implement and test, while human approval gates, automated review loops and production accountability stay with people.
  • Regulated environments: eight years in Danish banking technology, now pharma. I build security, resilience and compliance into the platform as guardrails from the start.
  • Incidents and resilience: Log4Shell Major Incident Owner across 400+ systems; business continuity and DR governance.

Experience

Lundbeck · Senior Cloud Architect, Infrastructure Architecture · 2026–present

Secure, scalable cloud platforms on AWS and Azure in a regulated pharma organisation, combining cloud engineering with AI-augmented engineering in support of Lundbeck’s Bionic strategy.

  • Advise on cloud architecture, governance, security, operations and cost management.
  • Platform operations across AWS and Azure, including public-cloud connectivity via Cisco SD-WAN.
  • Design agentic AI workflows for analysis, evidence gathering, automation and consistent engineering decisions, with human control, traceability and clear approval points.

We Are Falcon · Infrastructure Architect (part-time) · 2026–present

I own the infrastructure behind We Are Falcon’s live-TV software (Falcon Play, Rundown and Media Server): the architecture, the infrastructure code and keeping it running in production. The application code running on top is not part of my role. Since January 2026 all delivery has been AI-augmented. Agents write and test the infrastructure changes, and I own the guardrails and put the changes into production.

  • Architecture and operation of a full private cloud: network, firewalls, isolated zones, central load balancing, VPN.
  • Automated provisioning and operation of the playout machines, plus unified monitoring and alerting, and documented recovery of both the database and the whole platform.
  • Made AI-augmented delivery the standard way of working: agents commit to the repository that production runs from. So far that’s 500+ commits and 90+ merged changes, including production fixes written by agents.
  • I own the guardrails: human approval gates before production, automated review that sends changes back to the agent that wrote them, and learning loops that carry approved learnings into a shared knowledge base. Accountability for production stays with me.

BEC Financial Technologies · 2018–2026

Technology provider for Danish banks, serving more than 20% of all Danish bank customers.

Head of Operational Security · 2025–2026

  • Led the Operational Security department: 12 people in two teams covering business continuity and cybersecurity, including incident response, awareness, vulnerability and patch management, crisis management and disaster recovery. Core contributor to BEC’s Cyber Resilience Program.
  • Implemented a new vulnerability and patch management process with an external supplier and made roles and ownership clear, which cut older vulnerabilities significantly. Coordinated the audit-findings task force with JN Data and system owners.
  • Matured disaster recovery and business continuity governance (review cycle, templates, KPIs, ServiceNow), reduced MTTR, and ran a crisis management test across BEC and its customers.
  • Introduced agile ways of working in both teams, which raised employee satisfaction, productivity and transparency.

Product Owner, Cloud Center of Excellence · 2024–2025

Set the direction for cloud adoption for BEC and its member banks. I started with no Azure background. The team built BEC’s Azure platform, and together we got the first BEC-developed systems into full, compliant production.

  • Owned the BEC Azure Cloud Platform roadmap, based on Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Enterprise Scale.
  • Continuously prioritised which Microsoft PaaS services to bring onto the platform, to get the most value from the capacity available.
  • Cut the compliance backlog to zero in eight months, working closely with security, architecture and operations.
  • Co-authored BEC’s Cloud Vision. Central contributor to the joint cloud strategy of the suppliers behind more than 50% of Danish bank customers, and to the Common Azure Platform Service.
  • Supported the Databricks platform team during their pilot from a platform perspective.

Development Manager & Product Manager, IT Operations · 2021–2023

  • Led up to 25 people in four teams (Middleware, Secure Operations, Database Operations, Central Operations). Worked with the leadership group on priorities, compliance and continuous improvement across approx. 65 people.
  • Major Incident Owner during Log4Shell (December 2021): coordinated triage across 400+ systems in regulated environments, with no compromise and no business impact.
  • Took over a large, ageing compliance backlog and reduced it by approx. 80% in 12 months with sustainable solutions.
  • Owned roadmaps and prioritisation across IT Operations and championed shift-left. Initiated and owned risk-heavy platform and infrastructure initiatives with JN Data and vendors. Highest employee satisfaction in the area.

Product Owner, Integration Platforms, Platform Operations & Tech Academy · 2019–2021

  • Product Owner for BEC’s IBM API Connect and Confluent Kafka event streaming platforms, run by two teams. Both went into full production on my roadmaps and priorities, with the first consumer applications live.
  • Worked closely with 30+ consuming teams. Modern integration patterns and shift-left processes let development teams adapt, deploy and develop faster.
  • Built a Platform Operations team from scratch in Warsaw (8 recruits) for middleware operations, which freed Danish specialists for other work.
  • Developed the organisation-wide process for risk assessment and approval of open-source components. Ran Tech Academy (learning plans, train-the-trainer, Udemy for Business).

Infrastructure Specialist · 2018–2019

  • DevOps specialist on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and co-developer of an in-house deployment engine for classic infrastructure (Windows/WAS). The platform got its first internal customers into production.

KMD · Senior Platform Architect & Data Architect · 2015–2018

  • Platform architect and tech lead for KMDPaaS: SaltStack-based deployment automation for virtual and physical servers, integrated with the CMDB. Cut server provisioning from days to minutes.
  • Tech lead for onboarding a large customer (500+ server instances) with no operational errors. Later responsible for KMD’s CMDB implementation in ServiceNow.

Earlier career · 2001–2016

Partner & CTO at Rackhosting.com (2001–2012), infrastructure consultant at Cortex Consult (2012) and independent at Cloudline.dk (2012–2016). Hosting, MSP networks (OSPF, BGP, firewalling, load balancing), virtualisation and automation.
